From Idea to Protein Production
Basic Pharma supports every phase of recombinant protein production, including upstream development, downstream purification and final production.
With bioreactor capacity up to 50 L, processes can be scaled from laboratory expression to pilot scale production. Before starting, we define the target protein, purity requirements, intended application and required scale. This alignment ensures that development and manufacturing are built around your end use.

Upstream Bioprocess Development and Protein Expression
Recombinant proteins are produced in yeast and bacterial systems under ML II containment for GMO work.
Upstream development includes strain construction, clone selection and optimization of fermentation parameters. Expression conditions are designed for transfer to larger scale fermentation without fundamental process changes.
Animal component free production systems are used to support research and industrial applications.

Downstream Processing and Purification
Purification strategy is defined based on protein characteristics and intended use.
Downstream activities include chromatography based purification, ultrafiltration and diafiltration, buffer exchange and concentration. During development, purification steps are evaluated for performance and scalability. Process parameters are documented to support batch consistency.

Scale up and Manufacturing
After development, the process transitions into manufacturing. Fermentation and purification are executed according to defined parameters.
Manufacturing capacity includes small and pilot scale fermentation in bioreactors up to 50 L. Fill and finish support is available when required.
If a production strain is already available, we can execute fermentation and purification based on your established process.
